What we Do
Sopogy pioneered the Micro-Scaled Concentrating Solar Power or "MicroCSP" industry. MicroCSP technologies bring the economics of proven large scale Concentrating Solar Power systems (CSP) to the distributed generation markets. With its superior efficiencies and proven track record, MicroCSP systems bring the benefits of storage, tracking, low cost and efficient systems integration to the customer combining for a fast payback. MicroCSP technologies are used to create Process Heat, Solar Air Conditioning or Electrical Power and can be ground or rooftop mounted opening an entirely new market for CSP systems. About Us
Sopogy was originally founded in 2002 at the Honolulu, Hawaii based clean-technology incuabtor Energy Laboratories, We are focused at developing the new sector of solar known as "MicroCSP." Our primary funding came from our company founder Darren T. Kimura and we have been venture capital financed since 2006 with our lead investors TCG and Blackriver Asset Management an independently managed subsidiary of Cargill, Inc..
Keahole Solar Power
Keahole Solar Power or "KSP" developer of utility scaled solar solutions was spun out of Sopogy in 2007 and sold to private investors in 2009.
